Chopper crash kills Four Persons

According to the authorities, the crash of a sheriff's helicopter that occurred on Saturday night in New Mexico resulted in the deaths of four individuals. 

It was approximately 7:20 in the evening local time when the "Metro 2" helicopter belonging to the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office was reported to have gone down just outside of Las Vegas, New Mexico. 

In addition to Matthew King, a rescue specialist with the Bernalillo County Fire Department. 

There were three members of the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office on board the aircraft. 

Undersheriff Larry Koren, Lieutenant Fred Beers, & Deputy Michael Levison. 

According to the sheriff's department, the helicopter & its crew were utilised to assist fire officials. 

With the East Mesa Fire by "providing bucket drops & other air logistics needed to fire teams on the ground." 

This assistance was provided so that the fire could be contained. 

Officials have stated that they are in the beginning phases of examining what caused the collision, since it is yet unknown what caused the crash. 

The National Transportation Safety Board has verified on its Twitter account that they are conducting an investigation into the event.
