SDCC 2021 Just Revealed Blade Runner: Black Lotus' Anime Trailer

Black Lotus' Anime Trailer

Blade Runner 2049 and Black Lotus take place sometime between the two films. In Fall 2021, Adult Swim and Crunchyroll will premiere the brand new Blade Runner anime, and the trailer was released at San Diego Comic-Con.

The story will follow a brand new replicant named Elle (voiced by Jessica Henwick in English and Arisa Shida in Japanese), who has been created for unknown purposes. All we know about her is that she is confused, very capable, and plays some sort of role in how the world of Blade Runner changes between the Tyrell Corporation and the Wallace Corporation in the sequel. Episodes of the series are directed by Shinji Aramaki and Kenji Kamiyama, and the show is executive produced by Joseph Chou. The trailer is below.

The neon lights, the smoke, the iconic spinner vehicles... that sure does look like Blade Runner. In contrast, the action is way beyond anything Deckard and K did in any of the films. Which is to be expected in an anime developed by the same people responsible for Ghost in the Shell and The Animatrix. Do you remember the song I mentioned earlier? It's an original song written for the show by Alessia Cara called "Feel you Now". Here's the very cool, stylish official poster that debuted.
